Our Amazing Trip to Auckland Zoo!
OMG! We are here at the Zoo! Here we are getting shown around by the awesome guides - Richard told us about some stories about some of the birds in NZ. He said Shiny Cuckoos may be arriving in about 3 weeks from Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. He also told us about the native birds - kakariki and kaka.
One of the groups is having fun on the concrete elephant outside the elephant enclosure.
One of the spectacular animals at the zoo was the lions. "Roar" went the lions. Taylah said 'What on earth is that?!'
Our amazing zoo trip came to an end. It was cool, but almost everyone was tired from walking around the fantastic zoo!

Awesome Assembly Item
Here is a video of our item last week. Unfortunately due to technical difficulties, the beginning did not get on to this video version.
Hopefully you get some idea of what happened.
I will also try to download the power point slide show that went with our item.
Enjoy!

Digging the Time Capsule Hole!
Mr Jackson and Mr Ashley are digging the hole under the chess board to put the time capsule in.
It was extremely loud because they were using a big drill! It looked like it was really hard for them because the drill looked super heavy. As the drill went down, the dirt was moving all around but they were making a deep, wide, medium-sized hole. They did an awesome job!

Room 4's Happy St Patrick's Day
'Fiddley, diddley, dee. Potato, potato, potato! Happy St Patrick's Day"
Today we learnt about what St Patrick's Day was all about. Patrick was born in Scotland. He immigrated to Europe, then went back to Ireland to try to get the Irish to learn about catholicism. Some people believe that he got rid of all the snakes in Ireland but this wasn't true because there were no snakes native to Ireland!
We all dressed up in green and we had fun doing Irish stuff!!!
